Goodnight, Sleep Tight

Gentle reader,

Something you may not know about me (or maybe you do) is that I have a properly hard time throwing anything away. It’s a problem. I have so much stuff! Some things I just know I’ll never need, but I can remember exactly when and where I got it, who gave it to me and how much I loved it way back when and once I remember all those things, I just can’t get rid of it! Even to charity! But, the madness must stop. Oy.

So, I’m tearing my house apart, top to bottom and trying to be as ruthless as I can. It’s hard going, and here I am, nigh on 4:30am after a full day of cleaning, chucking and rearranging, and I still have LOTS to do. But, I decided it was about time for some procrastinating, and I thought I’d have a fiddle around in Photoshop. I do love to play around in Photoshop, though the results aren’t always what you might call a success. Anyway, here’s a little pic for you all (and considering it’s the wee hours of the morning here, I hope the sentiment is true!). I hope you like it! It’s just a silly digital scribble, really.

Anyhoo, I’m gonna get back to it for a bit longer. Partially because I want to, partially because my bed is covered in junk. Geesh.

Do you like to play about in Photoshop? Do you have hoarding in your blood, like me?

  1. Well at least you’re doing it yourself before someone called that program Hoarders on your behalf. My auntie is 95 years old and she is a legitimate hoarder. It’s going to be awful cleaning out her house someday. Good luck with the rest of your cleaning!

    • Hi Jordan! Yeah, I’m heading the full-blown hoarding off at the pass, so I won’t be on reality TV anytime soon. I’m sorry to hear about your auntie!

  2. Very cuteee! I love the pillows! I love to fiddle with photoshop xD

Packrat! I go through stages of actual cleaning/throwing out ~slowly~ and the “I may need this one day” (that doesn’t come within the next couple of years)

    Garage sale, maybe? Ebay.

    • I did think about ebay and garbage, but at this point, I just want it gone, and I’m always happy to support some charity shops by giving them some decent stuff. Some things I put a call out to friends on Facebook on the condition that they had to come and get it that weekend which worked pretty well.

Photoshop is the bomb! I’d like to sit down and really spend a long time on something, but I haven’t done a sketch that I really want to commit that long to, so I just do these little photoshop-sketches when the fancy strikes. ^_^ You’re photoshop stuff is on quite another level!

  3. I am also trying to channel Mary Poppins – to clean and de-clutter my place. It’s a good thing to gain back some organised space and maybe those days of searching high and low for something might be over…well that’s shooting for the moon, but I’m happy to try to get there. 🙂

    • Well, I hope you’re fairing better than me at the moment, Melissa! Things have stalled here for a while. I sort of got to that point where there’s still so much to do but I don’t know what to do next, so I procrastinate instead. Oy. I’d better get stuck back in!

  4. I love your picture! I think you must be quite talented with Photoshop ^_^

I am a bit of a hoarder, but I try to have clean-outs so that I don’t become a full-on hoarder like my grandmother. There were rooms in her house one couldn’t enter because they were so full of stuff! I also have a bit of a rule … if things are neatly packed in boxes then it’s not hoarding, it’s storage ~_^

    • I have the rule too, usually! But I’ve even been opening and going through all my boxes and repacking them. I should be able to stave off full-blown hoarding for another few years. lol ^_^
